SICKENING – AT 6:35 A.M. ET: Jimmy Carter is more than a public embarrassment. He is a disgrace to the American presidency. From Newsmax:
COMMENT: One of the great lies about Carter is that he's a human-rights activist. In fact, his support for human rights, and basic democratic rights, is very selective. You never hear him arguing for human rights in, say, Saudi Arabia. I am speculating, but I wonder what size check it took to shut Carter up on that score. When he was president he lectured this nation about its "inordinate fear of Communism," essentially ridiculing the notion that Communist nations were a threat to our way of life. What a great crusader for human rights! Compare please to Ronald Reagan, who inspired the refuseniks and others fighting for freedom in the Soviet Union. He was given the Nobel Peace Prize for nothing, which is why it's usually given. He contributed nothing to peace. Indeed, one of the Nobel big shots said at the time that Carter was awarded the prize as a "kick in the shins" to George W. Bush, who had the gall to defend his country. Carter is getting more eccentric and more mean-spirited with age. Even his grandson, who is running for governor of Georgia, has distanced himself from him. Some men don't know when to get off the stage. August 29, 2014
